The Power of Michelle Obama. Is it Powerful Enough for a Burger?

No matter what side you are on politically I can bet almost everyone will agree that Michelle Obama is one of the world's most powerful trend setters.  People across the globe seem to be paying attention to what she is wearing and then try to copy that style.  Ever since her Tonight Show appearance with Jay Leno in October when she announced she was wearing a J Crew ensemble, on-line sales for J Crew and the Gap have skyrocketed.

Which brings me to my next thought. Will Five Guys sales spike? This morning on the Today Show I saw an interview about Michelle Obama.  She attended a "Take Your Child to Work" Q&A session with some parents and their children.

One of the questions posed by a child was, "What do you like to do in your spare time." Michelle answered by saying she didn't have a lot of spare time but occasionally she likes to sneak out for a little fun.  Then proceed to say - "Every now and then I have this thing that I like to do with some of my staff members, and we sneak out, without telling anybody, and we go and test out all the fun places to eat in D.C. -- like I went to Five Guys and nobody knew it," she said, prompting laughs from the children. "It was good."

I haven't eaten at Five Guys yet.  There is a new location pretty close to my house.  I've driven by a handful of times thinking I would like to stop and try it out sometime soon.  I have to be honest, Michelle Obama did peak my curiosity even more.  I see a visit to Five Guys real soon. I guess the power of Michelle Obama is powerful enough for a burger.

I saw that this morning and wondered the same thing. I imagine the people at the Five Guys corporate office are doing a happy dance today!
