The price of freedom is high. We can't afford to forget those willing to pay it. Happy Veteran's Day!

I look this photo in May at Arlington National Cemetery. It was so moving to see the pride, respect and honor this soldier had for our fallen veterans. As you can tell from the photo, the soldier methodically placed his boot at the center of each tombstone so every flag was strategically positioned giving uniform to the hills of the cemetery. Something I will never forget!

Throughout our Nation’s history, America’s soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coastguard men and women have bravely answered the call to defend our freedom, to come to the aid our friends and allies, and to turn back attackers.

We can never fully repay our debt of gratitude to the more than 650,000 American service members who died in battle or the 1.4 million who were wounded. We can, however, recognize and thank the 25 million veterans still living today.

It is a privilege to say “thank you” to all American veterans, to let them know they are appreciated for their service, and they are honored for their sacrifices.
