Another Ohio Gem Uncovered by The Ladies at Weekend ReTweat

The sun and warmer temperatures finally appeared this weekend as the ladies of Weekend ReTweat ventured 2 hours west to Versailles, Ohio where we stayed at The Inn at Versailles, right in heart of downtown on the corner of Main & Center Street. This beautiful French/American inspired inn was charming, lovely and very comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

I felt like a queen in my royal purple bedroom!

Saturday morning started with a private tour of the Sycamore Bridge Farm. This is where the Inn at Versailles restaurant, Michael Anthony's, grows their produce, herbs and even flowers for the tables. Visiting this farm on such a warm, sunny day made us all wonder if a summer on a farm is as wonderful as we imagine.

The morning continued with a tour of the town hosted by Inn of Versailles General Manager, Roy Brown. The town of Versailles is filled with bronze statues throughout the town showcasing the importance of art. Here I am in a photo taken before dinner with a life-sized statue of Claude Monet.

After our morning tour we were famished so we decided to venture to the next town of Greenville, Ohio for a little lunch and shopping. We enjoyed an array of salads and a glass of Merlot at Montage Cafe. A great find in a quaint town. Here's a photo I snapped of Tiffany, Rose and Betty enjoying lunch in the loft.

After lunch we purchased a bottle of wine to enjoy later that evening. I bought a delicious bottle of Sycamore Lane Merlot. With flavors of cherries and spice and soft tannins for a smooth finish this was a winner, especially for only $10.00!

Arriving back to the Inn at Versailles we all relaxed, freshened up in our luxurious bathrooms and met back at the living area the Inn so graciously gave us for the weekend. Here is where we enjoyed a pre-dinner glass of wine before heading downstairs to Michael Anthony's for what was an incredibly culinary experience!

Dinner at Michael Anthony's was an marvelous treat from the appetizers (Bruschetta Di Michael Anthony, Calamari, Antipasti Platter, and Bruschetta made with their vine ripe tomatoes), to the wine  (Washington state, 40 Nights & Chateau Ste. Michelle), to my amazing dinner (Chicken Al Limone), and finishing with dessert (tasting a bit of everyone's - Chocolate Decadence, Homemade Salty Carmel Gelato and the Strawberry, Blueberry, and Sycamore Bridge Farms Rhubarb Tart). Full, but completely satisfied this is a restaurant we would highly recommend and would definitely invest the time to make a day of it to visit once again. Don't believe me, check out the photo of my dinner. This is definitely one I will be craving again!

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend road trip and would highly recommend the Inn at Versailles and dinner at Michael Anthony's if you are looking for a unique Ohio get-a-way.

Traveling to Versailles (Ohio) But It Will Feel A Lot Like France

This weekend the ladies of Weekend ReTweat pack their bags once again for a weekend trip to the Inn of Versailles and dinner at Michael Anthony's. Surrounded by gently rolling rural countryside, the Inn is located in the center of the picturesque and charming Village of Versailles.

Looking at the Inn's website and Michael Anthony's Facebook page I can't help but get excited for what looks to be a very French experience! The Inn looks so lovely and the food sounds sinfully delicious!

Not sure what room I'll be staying in yet but here is are a couple different type the Inn has.  C'est magnifique!

The Inn and Michael Anthony's also looks to be filled with french inspired paintings.

I can't wait to update you on our stay with lots of photos and recommendations! Look for a post early next week. You can follow me (cbusimPRessions) or WeekendReTweat on Twitter for live updates while we are there too!
