Quite an imPRession This Memorial Day

If you were following my Tweets the past week, you know I recently returned home from the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.  A busy but incredible trip!  To actually be present at many of the places I have learned about in history classes or have seen on the news over the years was really inspiring and left a big imPRession on me.

One of the most touching moments for me was at the Arlington National Cemetery. Appropriately on Memorial Day, I wanted to share this photo of a solider placing flags at each fallen soldier's grave site to honor every soldier who fought so hard to give us the freedom we have today.  I loved how he used his foot as a marker to place the flag at his heal to create precision and accuracy.

God Bless all our past and present armed services men and women and God Bless this incredible country we are so fortunate to live in!

Mail a Holiday Card To the Troops

Thanks to the American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes you can send a holiday card to our American service men and women though the Holiday Mail for Heroes program.  Don't have a card.  You can download one for free on the site.

What a great way to let them know we are thinking of them during the season of giving and we are wishing them well and a safe trip home.  Here's the address:

Holiday Mail for Heroes
PO Box 5456
Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456

We checked this out with Snopes.com and it's true.  Unlike the Recovering American Solider one - that is false.

Veterans Day

Today is the day we honor our military veterans.  We pay tribute and express our appreciate to these brave soldiers!

Today the Army launches a new ad campaign "Strength like no other".  Three ads (Team, School and Company) will enhance the Army's strong brand and will include :30 and :60 second spots to air on ESPN, MTV and the Speed Channel, as well as the GoArmy.com web site.  Soldiers will share their experiences giving testimony and even answering questions in an interactive section of the web.

What an appropriate day to launch a campaign for the Army and what an appropriate day to stop and say "thanks" to all the military men and women who fight so hard and risk their lives to give us freedom and safety.  True heros!  God Bless You!
